Social Service Worker

WORK PHILOSOPHY
From office to menial jobs, I have always taken pride in what I am doing. I approach work with integrity, professionalism, and competency. Getting the job done beyond expectation is one of the characteristics I am commended for. I am a hard-working person, a fast learner, a team player, and I respect diversity, honesty, inclusivity, and creativity. Accepting challenges and taking feedback as room for improvement are contributing factors that strengthened my work ethic. Working in a diverse and welcoming place is of foremost importance to me where everyone is respected, valued, cared for, has equal growth opportunities, and empowered. Being enrolled in the SSW (Social Service Worker) program and working in a community legal clinic as part of my field placement enhanced my desire and eagerness to be a champion of change.
My personal philosophy of social service work is geared towards empowering oppressed individuals through continuous learning, employing effective strategies, innovation, collaboration, and advanced commitment to the SSW profession. As the needs of marginalized individuals change over time, I believe that a future social service worker should continue to evolve and adapt through continuous education, training, involvement in the development of evidence-based practices, and participation in changing policies that contributes to oppression.
"We can change the world and make it a better place. It is in your hands to make a difference. "
