FIELDWORK WEEK
February 18-21, 2020
In preparation for practicum placement, I participated in the "Fieldwork Week" where first-year Social Service Worker students have the chance to meet and interview second-year SSW students regarding their respective placements and employers. The event allows students to learn and have a glimpse of student's roles and responsibilities as learning professionals at a non-profit organization. It also gave students the
opportunity to meet with employers/supervisors for potential practicum placement. I met and interviewed the student who's having practicum at North Peel and Dufferin Community Legal Services at that time. It was when my interest in having my placement at a legal clinic sparked. Fortunately, I got the position and it was great experiential learning working with the organization. (These photos with Professor Yvette Brown and my classmates (Joan, Rajbir & Katleen) were taken while attending the Mandatory Practicum Fair).

VIRTUAL CLASS
GROUP METHODS & FACILITATION
When the Covid-19 pandemic started, all course delivery shift from in-class to online/virtual methods of learning. This photo was taken during our group simulation session where all students are required to facilitate a virtual simulation in pairs for the Group Methods & Facilitation course (Instructor: Dr. Michele Braniff). Virtual learning shows students adaptability, creativity, and resiliency to changes.
GROUP WORKS
THE HELPING PROCESS - BPSSS Roleplay
This picture was taken during a group roleplay in the Helping Process course taught by Dr. Amy Twomey (Semester- Winter 2020). With the combination of working collaboratively as a team, utilization of each member's strengths, and my leadership skills, we received a 100% mark on the project.
SELF-CARE
FEEL GOOD FRIDAY (03/12 to 04/23, 2021)
Every Friday at 11:10 am, I attend the "Feel Good Friday" meditation facilitated by Dr. Kamilla Petrick as a part of my self-care. Regular meditation is a powerful tool that can help someone achieve peace, balance, focus, overall health & well-being. It is vital to take care of ourselves especially when we are overwhelmed and stressed so that we can function well physically and mentally.
